Heat Pumps 101: What You Need to Know
Simply put, heat pumps work to transfer hot or cool air from one place to another. Heat pumps are multi-component appliances, and they offer a lot of benefits for the properties that utilize them for climate control purposes. The two biggest benefits include energy efficiency and the ability to heat a property without ductwork. Because of these benefits, heat pumps are often utilized with ductless heating solutions, as they connect to an outside condenser to provide heating and cooling to the inside of the property.
Another nice thing about heat pumps is they allow for a much more customized heating and cooling solution within the home compared to central air or heat. For instance, property owners can only install evaporators in the rooms where they want to receive cool or warm air, which can also help reduce utility costs.
